Krupa Sagar Sahoo is born in 1952, in a village in Dhenkanal district of Odisha, Shri Sahoo spent his childhood amidst the nature-the hills, the forest and a small river encircling his village. The childhood impressions of his fantastic ancestral land and the life style of the simple and innocent folk of his locality have sur-faced again and again in his writings as motifs.
After initial schooling from his village school, he graduated from Ravenshaw college, Cuttack and did his Post Graduation from Utkal University. Afterwards he joined Indian Railway Traffic Service in 1978. During last three decades he has held many important posts in South Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway and South East Central Rail-way and retired in 2012. At present he stays with his wife and two childrens, a son and daughter at Bhubaneswar. Shri Sahoo started his literary career as a poet. He has two published collection of poems—Upare Farcha Akash ( The wide sky above) and Tale Basumata (The Mother Earth below). As the name of his two books suggests, he has drawn inspiration heavily from earth, sky and nature. Cast romantically his poems encompass in their sweep broader themes of love, despair and enduring human aspirations. Prof. J.M.Mohanty opines, "Shri Sahoo's sensibility has been tem-pered by his profession which has provide an extra dimension to his poetry, a more thoughtful and richer one, to his feelings of empathy and involvement".
