The first para of the back cover of the book reads, "25th July 2022 is an epiphany - a moment that embodies what we, the people can become. Droupadi Murmu is the newly elected 15th President of India. In a year when India is marking '75th year of Independence', it has made every Indian proud that the highest office of our country is occupied by a self-made woman who belongs to a tribal community. She needs no introduction but if you are keen to know in detail about her amazing journey from a non-descript tribal village of Odisha to the resplendent Raisina Hills, this is the book to read."
Smt Murmu has become a symbol of resilience, fortitude and determination, having sailed through her roots in a non-descript town, Rairangpur in the Mayurbhanj District of Odisha to the most elevated position in the National Capital. Her journey is replete with struggle against odds including that of continuous personal tragedies which would have sunk any weak hearted. She is an inspiration not only for the Tribals or Women but for everyone in the Nation. As we look fwd to emulate her, this is the inspiring story to read, lucidly articulated by Dr Gopal Sharma, a professor of English in Ethiopia. Dr Sharma has chronicled the biographies of many a great personalities like Nelson Mandela, Nadia Murad, Munshi Premchand, Ramnath Kobind, Narendra Modi and Kamala Harris. This great work is a result of extensive field research.
